Pikku Privacy Policy

Summary

Pikku is an iPhone and iPad app that helps people browse, classify, and organize photos. Processing happens on the device. Pikku requires no account, and Trellic Studio doesn't collect or receive your photos, metadata, classifications, or app activity.

Data Trellic Studio collects

Trellic Studio doesn't collect personal data through Pikku. The app includes no advertising, analytics, advertising identifiers, tracking, or third-party SDKs that collect information.

Access to Apple Photos

Pikku requests access to the photos you authorize to display your collection, create classification sessions, find similar photos, and organize your decisions. Depending on the access you grant, Pikku may process the following information locally:

• The image and its dimensions.
• The local identifier provided by Photos.
• Capture date, location, and burst membership, when available.
• Favorite, screenshot, hidden-item, or iCloud-shared status.
• The albums that contain the photo.

This information isn't sent to Trellic Studio.

You can grant limited access to selected photos or full access to your library. You can change or revoke permission at any time in iOS or iPadOS Settings. If you revoke access, Pikku can no longer read Photos, but locally saved classifications may remain until you delete the app's data.

Image analysis

Pikku uses Apple's vision technology to compare images and suggest groups of similar photos. Pixel analysis happens on the device. Suggestions don't identify people and aren't sent to Trellic Studio or an external artificial intelligence service.

Data stored on the device

Pikku locally stores classifications, the history needed to undo actions, tutorial progress, and an index of the authorized photo library. The index may contain local identifiers and the metadata described above. Copies chosen through the system picker may be stored in the app's private container to preserve a session.

The system may remove cached files when it needs space. Persistent data remains on the device while the app is installed or until a Pikku feature removes it. Uninstalling Pikku removes its local container. It doesn't remove albums or undo Favorites already applied in Apple Photos.

Changes to Apple Photos

With the corresponding permission, Pikku can:

• Create Pikku albums.
• Add or remove photos from those albums to reflect a classification.
• Mark a photo as a Favorite in Apple Photos.

Pikku doesn't delete photos, edit their pixels, duplicate the originals, or remove Favorites that already existed. Changes made in Apple Photos remain there if you uninstall Pikku and can be managed from Photos.

iCloud and connectivity

If an authorized photo is only available in iCloud, Apple Photos may download a representation to the device. That communication takes place between the device and Apple's services under your iCloud settings and Apple's policies. Pikku uses network status to reduce prefetching or the requested size on cellular, expensive, or constrained connections. Pikku doesn't send images to Trellic Studio servers.

Sharing

When you choose to share a photo, Pikku uses the system share sheet. The copy is delivered only to the destination you select. Trellic Studio doesn't receive that copy. Further processing depends on the service or person you choose.

Retention and deletion

Trellic Studio doesn't retain Pikku data on its servers because the app doesn't send that data. To prevent further Photos access, revoke Pikku's permission in Settings. To delete all local Pikku data, remove the app from the device. Changes already applied in Apple Photos must be managed separately in Photos.

Accounts, advertising and third parties

Pikku requires no account, displays no advertising, and integrates no analytics or tracking services. Pikku uses Apple system frameworks to access Photos, process images, persist local information, and present the share sheet.

Changes to this policy

If data practices change, we will update this page and the privacy information published on the App Store before applying the change. The latest update date will appear at the beginning of this policy.
